Honor 8X is one of the exciting devices in the mid-range market, that offers overall excellent features. The glossy phone has a huge screen, performing Kirin chipset, a dual-camera setup at the back and great battery. It is equally capable like Nova 3i, Y9(2019), and other Huawei phones but the Honor play with similar price tag packs performing Kirin 970 chipset.
Talking about the appearance of the device, there is a 6.5 inch big LCD display with an offending notch at the top. The notch at the front is house to the 16MP selfie shooter and a couple of sensors. The large screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 ratio (~397 ppi density). The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Honor 8X is powered by Hisilicon Kirin 710 (12 nm) chipset and has an Octa-core (4x2.2 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4x1.7 GHz Cortex-A53) processor. To handle the graphics and for the smooth gaming experience, there is Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. The phone is coupled by a 4GB of RAM and for the storage, there are two options of 64 and 128GB with expandable functionality up to 400GB. In terms of optics, Honor 8X comes with decent cameras. There is a dual camera set up at the back with the primary sensor of 20 MP, f/1.8, 27 mm (wide), and the secondary depth sensor of 2 MP. For the selfie, there is a 20MP camera at the front with an aperture of f/2.0. Both the front and back camera are capable of taking 1080p videoes at 30fps.
8X runs on top of Android 8.1 Oreo and flaunts its parent company's EMUI 8.2 The phone packs decent 3,750mAh battery with no fast charging which might be a bit of disappointing.
