Redmi 8A Overview
Redmi 8A is an entry-level device. It packs low powerful specs but for the price in comes with, this is one of the best entry-level devices in the market. The key highlight of Redmi 8A are:

Redmi 8A comes with Aura Wave Grip design on the back which makes holding the device on your hand good and safe from slips and falls. This Grip Design gives the remembrance of Realme C2. The polycarbonate finish of Redmi 8A feels like a hard and premium in feel. Redmi 8A comes in 6.22” HD+ IPS LCD display which flaunts 720 x 1520 resolution pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. The massive bezels on the top from Redmi 7A have been replaced in this device with waterdrop notch which Xiaomi named as Dot Notch Display. The bezels at the bottoms are still there with Redmi Branding.
Redmi 8A has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection from accidental falls and drops. This device is Splash-proof by P2i means an accidental fall in the water makes no harm to this device.
The main disappointment on this Redmi 8A is its Rear Camera which has a single sensor. If you can add Rs.2K on the price of Redmi 8A, you can get Redmi 8 which is also available in Nepal priced below Rs.15K as Redmi 8 comes with Dual Rear Camera. Most of the devices in this price range are offering at least a dual camera set up. But the only single camera is powerful enough to take stunning images. It has a 12MP AI Primary Camera with a Sony IMX363 sensor having f/1.8 aperture. This AI camera offers AI Portrait and AI Scene Detection features. The 1.4 μm pixel helps in low light photography to better shots.
On the front, Redmi 8A has an 8MP AI Selfie Camera inside the waterdrop notch. It has AI Selfie Portrait Mode too. Additionally, this selfie shooter also works as AI Face Unlock as only Biometric Security on the phone.
Sadly, there is no upgrade in the processor in this new Redmi 8A from its predecessor Redmi 7A. This Redmi 8A also has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 439. This is an octa-core processor with the clock speeds up to 2.0 GHz. For the graphical works, it has Adreno 505 GPU.
There are two variants of RAM available with this device: 2GB or 3GB and one variant of ROM: 32GB. This makes we are getting at least 32GB of internal storage in Mi devices from the entry-level phones. If not enough, you can expand this memory up to 512 GB via dedicated micro SDCard. Additionally, it has two other dedicated slots for Dual-SIM.
The handy upgrade can be seen on its battery. There is a huge 5,000mAh battery in Redmi 8A with the support of 18W Fast Charge. FYI, iPhone 11 Pro Max also comes with 18W fast charge support. Though being an entry-level phone, it has a Type-C port. As an extra feature, it also supports Wireless FM Radio.
