Vivo Launched Vivo V17 Pro in Nepal: Dual Selfie Pop Up Camera | Should You Buy It?

Vivo is one of the top brands in Asian countries, especially in India. After the success of Vivo V15 Pro, Vivo is back with new V series i.e. Vivo V17 Pro. Previously, Vivo V15 Pro was the highest-selling mid-range smartphone on the Indian market and some other Asian markets. Currently, the Vivo V17 Pro is priced at Rs. 29,990 on Indian Market and is on sale from September 27^th.  As for Nepal, Vivo V17 Pro is launched in mid-October as expected earlier. Vivo V17 Pro is a beautiful looking phone and the price of Vivo V17 Pro in Nepal is Rs. 52,490 for 8/128GB variant.

Vivo V17 Pro Overview

Vivo has done some improvements to its previous successor Vivo V15 Pro and has improved design, increase in a number of cameras as Vivo V17 Pro features six cameras (2 in front and 4 in the rear) and many more features.

Design and Build Quality

So, let’s start with the design of the phone. The phone is built with corning gorilla glass 6 on the back and the back design looks great. On the back of the phone, Vivo has implemented a quad-camera set up with the Vivo logo at the bottom. There is no physical fingerprint scanner as Vivo V17 Pro features an in-display fingerprint sensor.

On the front of the phone, we don’t have any notch and Vivo V17 Pro features a bezel-less screen. This phone features a motorized dual front-facing camera which makes helps Vivo to achieve all screen. And Vivo calls it Ultra Full View Display. Talking about the screen, it has a 6.44-inch (2400 × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ 20:9 super AMOLED with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut with Schott Xensation UP glass protections. The latest E3 OLED offers a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, bringing vibrant and authentic colors.

Performance

Talking about the chipset and performance on this phone, Vivo V17 Pro runs on Qualcomm SDM675 Snapdragon 675 (11 nm) chipset with Adreno 612 GPU. Snapdragon 675 is the same chipset that was used on Vivo V15 Pro, so there is no upgrade on the chipset. At this price range, we think Snapdragon 730 would be a much better choice.

As we see the competition on a mid-range phone, within the same price range you can also get Redmi K20 pro which comes with the latest snapdragon 855 which has more power and performance. Talking about the storage, it comes with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Talking about OS, it runs of Android 9.0 pie and Funtouch 9.1. You get the microSD card slot to increase the storage capacity up to 256 GB.

Camera

The camera is one section where there is a big upgrade from Vivo V15 Pro. Vivo V17 Pro comes with a quad-camera set up. The primary sensor is the 48MP Sony IMX582 lens, the same lens seen on the Redmi K20. The second lens is a 8 MP f/2.2, 13mm ultra-wide-angle lens, 13 MP, (telephoto), PDAF, 2x optical zoom and 2 MP, f/2.4, 1/5", 1.75µm, depth sensor. This time Vivo came with different features like AI Super Night Mode, AI Super wide-angle camera i.e. up to 120 degrees wide-angle. This phone is capable to shoot at 4K but only on 30 fps.

Talking about the front-facing camera, it comes with a motorized front camera that holds two different sensors. A Motorized pop-up 32 MP, f/2.0 primary sensor and 8 MP, 17mm (ultrawide) sensor for those wide-angle selfies.

Battery

Vivo V17 Pro is powered by a 4100 mAh battery. And finally, Vivo has gone with USB Type c and packs an 18-watt fast charger out of the box.

Currently, the Vivo V17 Pro is priced at Rs. 29,990 on Indian Market and sale has started from September 27^th.
