Vivo S1 Pro Launched in Nepal! 48MP Quad Camera and Super AMOLED Display

Vivo is not known for its mid-range segments in the past. But now they are expanding their mid-range segment. After the launch of Vivo S1, Vivo has launched the Vivo S1 Pro. The phone will also be known as Vivo V17 in some regions like India. Talking about the price, the phone was first launched on the Philippines market for ₱15,999 (approx. US$314). Vivo Nepal has finally launched the phone in Nepal and the price of Vivo S1 Pro in Nepal is Rs. 36,790 for the base variant of 8/128GB. 

Design & Display

Talking about the design of the phone, the phone features a 6.38-inch (2340 × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90% screen to body ratio and a teardrop notch. On the images, the design of the phone looks quite great and the phone is available in two different colors. i.e. Fancy Sky and Knight Black. With the use of AMOLED panel, Vivo S1 Pro features an In-Display fingerprint scanner and Always on Display which lets you know of messages and alerts as they arrive. So, overall the design of the phone looks quite great.


Coming towards the performance of the phone, Vivo S1 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset with Octacore CPU and Adreno 610 GPU. Now, the processor is weaker when compared to the chipset used on Vivo S5’s Snapdragon 712 and Vivo S1’s Snapdragon 675. But it is the same chipset which is used on phones like MI A3 and recently launched Oppo A9 2020.

The phone comes with 128 GB and 6 GB RAM variant and supports external microSD card up to 128 GB of storage. The phone will run on Funtouch OS 9.2 out of the box based on Android 9.0 Pie. Vivo now offers Multi-Turbo mode which increases key performance, accelerates response and keeps your phone cooler.


Vivo S1 Pro features a quad-camera set-up on the back with a similar diamond-shaped design of Vivo S5 through the camera lens are different. It features a Primary 48 MP Samsung GM1 sensor with f/1.8, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 108° wide-angle view, a 2MP super macro camera (4cm focus distance) and 2MP depth sensor.

In terms of video, it can shoot videos up to 4K@30fps and there is no 60 fps nor any stabilization on this phone. As for the front-facing camera, it features a 32MP sensor that can capture some good selfies and can shoot videos up to 1080p @ 30fps.


Talking about the battery, Vivo S1 Pro is powered by a massive 4500mAh battery. And finally, Vivo has implemented the USB type C on Vivo S1 Pro which is great news and now the phone will support fast charging. You will get an 18W dual-engine fast charger out of the box.

Vivo S1 Pro is officially available in Nepal. Vivo S1 Pro was previously available on Daraz for the pre-booking. Now the phone is available on the retail and online stores in the country. The price of Vivo S1 Pro is Rs. 36,790 for the base variant of 8/128GB. With this pricing, the phone aims to compete with phones like Oppo A9 2020, Samsung Galaxy A50s, Redmi Note 8 Pro and other phones that are priced under Rs. 40,000 in Nepal
