Finally, Sony is ready to release its flagship smartphone at the start of 2020. The Sony Xperia 5Plus got all the hardware and software it needed to be among the flagship phone but based on what we have seen in 2019 the move sony is making might not be great as they fall behind all other major smartphone companies. Sony Xperia 5+ is a successor of Sony Xperia 5 which got Snapdragon 855 Chipset, Adreno 640 GPU, FHD+ OLED panel, Quad rear camera, and 4000 mAh battery, which last year’s flagship phone had. The hardware and software are capable enough to handle daily tasks and heavy gaming flawlessly but with similar specifications, large numbers of devices had already released in the market. Overview of Sony Xperia 5 Plus
Sony devices have a peculiar design and platform for its smartphone. And following the design language of a predecessor. The major feature of Sony Xperia 5+ is that it got IP65/IP68 dust/water-resistant. There will be a 6.6-inch OLED triluminos display panel which adapts 21:9 aspect ratio. Similarly, a powerful processor, Quad rear camera, is a major attracting point of this device.

Snapdragon 855 7nm chipset used by Sony is the best chipset available in 2019. Coupling this chipset with Adreno 640 GPU can deliver enough power to handle high-end games. The eight-core CPU comprises of single 2.84 GHz Kryo 485 core, triple 2.42GHz 485 cores and quad 1.78GHz Kryo 485 cores. Sony Xperia 5+ will be released only with a 6/128GB variant which is adequate for most of the users. It also supports external microSD card slot to expand storage by up to 1TB. As Snapdragon 865 Chipset has already been released, it would great if Sony has used one in its latest flagship phone.
Sony has been focusing largely to make a better camera for smartphone and Xperia 5+ is one of the devices that got lots of camera features and lens for better photography and videography. There are totals of four cameras at the back of the device cleanly arranged in vertical camera housing at the top left corner. The primary 12MP f/1.6 main sensor has 5-axis OIS, predictive Dual Pixel PDAF. Similarly, there is a 12MP f/2.4 telephoto lens that has 2x optical zoom and 5-axis OIS. Additionally, another 12 MP f/2.4 sensor is used to capture the ultrawide scene. Finally, the TOF 3D sensor is also added to Xperia 5+.
All these sensors coupled with HDR, eye tracking features will produce cinematic shots and videos. Videos can either be recorded at 4K( 24 or 30 fps) or in FHD (@60fps). The Sony Xperia 5+ is powered by a 4000 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging, and this is the one segment sony failed to improve. But according to the previous trend, the expected price of Sony Xperia 5+ is $799 for a 6/128GB variant. So, if released in Nepal, Sony Xperia 5+ will cost around Rs. 89,999 for a 6/128GB variant.
