If you are thinking there is a war between smartphones on Megapixel and bezel-less design only, then you are probably wrong. The next prominent war is ongoing on the Refresh Rate of Display. The world where 60Hz displays are common, OnePlus 7 Pro breaks the trends with 90Hz refresh rate and Asus ROG Phone II with 120Hz display. Now, it seems 120Hz display is not enough and Sharp announced Sharp Aquos Zero 2 with a 240Hz Refresh Rate Display. Long Live these Innovations! Long Live !!

Sharp Aquos Zero 2 Overview

Earlier SHARP had launched Sharp Aquos Zero as the world’s lightest smartphone and this Aquos Zero 2 is the successor of Aquos Zero. Sharp Aquos Zero 2 comes in a 6.4-inches Full HD+ OLED display and has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. This phone has waterdrop notch on the top for selfie shooter but there are noticeable bezels on the top as well as at the chin. This device has Glass Finish and packs Dual-Camera set up in the back in a vertical arrangement. Along with insane 240Hz refresh rate, it also supports the in-display fingerprint sensor.

Taking about the performance, this phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC but why not 855 Plus? Well, only the company knows the reasons. This octa-core chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM and Adreno 640 GPU. For the storage, it has 256 GB UFS 3.0 internal storage.

Moving toward Camera, surprisingly this device packs only dual-camera setup on the back. The rear camera configuration includes a 12.2MP main sensor and 20.1MP wide-angle camera. This camera supports high-speed AF and has OIS. On the front, it packs 8MP Selfie Shooter inside the water-drop notch which also serves as Face Unlock Support.

Surprisingly, Sharp Aquos Zero 2 has only 3130mAh of battery. It's interesting to see how long this phone will survive as it has a 240Hz display. This phone is running on the latest Android 10 operating system.

Final Words

The Japanese brand has just announced the device but yet to reveal the price and availability. The pricing would make a huge difference to make sure it survives in this crowdy and competitive market. Furthermore, a 240Hz refresh rate display is a stunning innovation and improvement which makes smoother scrolling and content transition experience. But we don't have much content out there to take benefits of this refresh rate.

Fingers Crossed !!
