Samsung Announced 108-Megapixel Camera Sensor, Collab with Xiaomi For this Project
Technology has no limit and this latest news is proof. A 108MP Camera in a smartphone is going to be real. Thanks to the collaboration between Samsung and Xiaomi. Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX is going to be the first to go beyond 100 Million Pixels in a smartphone.
Briefing on this partnership and this chip, Xiaomi’s Co-Founder and President, Lin Ben said: “ For ISOCELL Bright HMX, Xiaomi and Samsung have worked closely together from the early conceptual stage to production that has resulted in a groundbreaking 108Mp image sensor. We are very pleased that picture resolutions previously available only in a few top-tier DSLR cameras can now be designed into smartphones.”
Nothing has been confirmed from Samsung side but Xiaomi has hinted that they might be using this Sensor in their upcoming Mi Mix 4 smartphone.

Not only in image but this sensor will be a huge boost for mobile videography. This sensor will shoot video in 6K (6016 x 3384) at 30 fps. Furthermore, low light photography will be more improved with this technology.
