Redmi Note 9 Pro Officially Launched In Nepal | Priced Below Rs.30K

Susan Jyakhwo 4 Jun, 2020

On 12 March 2020, Xiaomi has released two new devices in the market. Redmi Note 9 Pro and 9 Pro Max had been officially released which were highly awaited by Nepalese customers. Last year, Redmi Note 8 Pro was released and is still standing as one of the best and most popular smartphones in Nepal, we expect same from its successor Redmi Note 9 Pro. So, let’s check what Redmi 9 Pro has got this time. Let me remind you, Redmi Note 9 Pro is launched in Nepal at the price of Rs.29,999 for 6/128GB Variant.

Overview of Redmi Note 9 Pro

Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has lots of similarities and the main differences we see are in the camera department and charging speed. The major feature of Redmi Note 9 Pro is that it got a quad rear camera with a 48MP main sensor, FHD+ panel, and Snapdragon 720G Chipset.

Display and Design

At the front panel of Redmi Note 9 Pro, we can see a beautiful 6.67-inch FHD+(1080x2400 pixels) panel. The panel itself is an IPS LCD panel that got good color saturation and viewing angle. But keep in mind that the LCD panels are not as great as Super AMOLED or OLED panel which we can see in high-end smartphones. The front and back panels are protected by Gorilla Glass 5 protection and to cut price, they used plastic frame in Redmi Note 9 Pro.

Chipset and Performance

Instead of Helios Chipset that we have seen in Redmi Note 8 Pro, Xiaomi this time used Snapdragon 720G Chipset on its latest Redmi Note 9 Pro and Pro Max. The 8nm processor got dual 2.3GHz high performing Kryo 465 cores and Hexa 1.8GHz Kryo 465 power-efficient cores. The SD720G mid-range gaming chipset coupled with Adreno 618 GPU can deliver enough power to handle daily casual tasks like media consumption and internet surfing. Not only that you can do casual and mid-range gaming with a good frame rate without lagging the system. But we expect some more powerful chipset like SD730G or SD765 on its latest mid-range smartphones.

Two variants have been released, one with 4/64GB RAM and Storage option and another with 6/128GB RAM and Storage Option. The good thing about it is that we are getting faster RAM and UFS 2.1 Storage technology alongside the implementation of a dedicated microSD card slot to expand storage.

Camera

The major difference that we will notice from Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max is that Redmi Note 9 Pro got a 48MP main sensor in its quad-camera setup housing instead of a 64MP main sensor. There are an 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP dedicated macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. All of these combinations can provide a good option for photography and Videography. Once this device is officially released in Nepal we will let you know more about the quality of photos and videos.

Similarly, at the front, there is a 16MP selfie shooter embedded in a punch hole FHD+ display, similar to that of Galaxy S10 Plus. The main sensor can capture 4K video at 30fps, FHD video up to 120fps and HD video in slow motion at up to 960fps.

Battery and Other Features

To power the Redmi Note 9 Pro, a bigger 5020mAh battery is used which supports 18W fast charging technology. Xiaomi increases the battery capacity from 4500mAh to 5020 but the fast charging technology is only improved in a Pro Max model which supports 33W fast charging technology. Additionally, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack in Redmi Note 9 Pro. Regarding connectivity, it supports dual-band Wi-Fi (802.11 ac), Bluetooth V5.0, GPS, GLONASS, IR port, FM Radio, and Type C connector.
