Realme X2 Vs POCO X2 Comparision: Which is the Best Budget Phone?

Sabin Tamang 1 May, 2020

Before the launch of Poco X2, Realme X2 was undoubtedly the best phone under 30,000 in Nepal. But after the launch of new Poco X2 can we say the same? So we are going to find which one is better.

Design, Build-Quality & Screen.

Starting with design on paper, both the X 2's have glass sandwich designs protected by Gorilla Glass 5 on either side but visually they couldn't be any more different. On one hand, we have the POCO X2 centrally placed via cameras here with a circular 3d ring around it with a gradient finish. On the other hand, we have the real me x2 it's got the real me design language stamped all over it and cameras to the side with a horizontal real me logo underneath it.

Comparing the two devices side-by-side POCO does have the larger footprint it's a fair bit taller, thicker, and just ahead wider as well it also happens to be the heavier from the Realme X2. So the in-hand feel of the real me is better. It's lighter and easy to wield one-handed although thanks to these large displays neither phone is meant to be used single-handed. The Poco x2 though does have an advantage of its own here it's got that p2i nano-coating that allows it to be splash resistant.

Moving towards the front design, Poco X2 comes with dual in-display cameras whereas Realme X2 comes with a waterdrop notch.

Talking about the ports, both these phones are quite similar but Realme X2 has a dedicated microSD card slot which might be a deal-breaker for many people which Poco X2 doesn’t have. But there is one thing missing on Realme X2 which is available on Poco X2 I.e. IR blaster.

When talking about the displays, there is quite a huge difference. Realme X2 comes with 6.4" Super AMOLED, 1080 x 2340px resolution with 60Hz refresh rate whereas Poco X2 comes with 6.67" IPS LCD screen with 1080 x 2400px resolution and has new 120Hz refresh rate. Now we all know, AMOLED panels are far better than IPS panels but this time it comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate. So it’s a battle between 120Hz IPS panel and 60Hz AMOLED panel. Personally, I would go with 60Hz AMOLED panel but it's all about personal preference.

Talking about the biometrics, Realme X2 features an in-display fingerprint scanner thanks to the AMOLED panel whereas Poco X2 feature a side-mounted physical fingerprint scanner.

Performance

Moving towards the chipset, both these phones come with the same Snapdragon 730G chipset (8 nm) chipset which is optimized for gaming. Both phone comes with UFS 2.1 storage and performance of these phones are quite similar. Both phones come with 256/8 GB as a max variant. So, the day to day performance is very similar and there is almost no difference when using these phones.

In terms of OS, Realme X2 comes with Android 9.0 Pie which can be upgraded to Android 10 along with Realme UI whereas Poco X2 comes with Android 10 out of the box along with MIUI 11.

Camera

Moving towards the cameras, both these phone features quad camera set up on the back. As for Poco X2, it comes with 64MP f/1.9 aperture Sony IMX686 sensor as primary lens along with 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP Macro lens.

Talking about Realme X2, it also features the 64MP primary sensor. The difference here is Reame X2 comes with Samsungs GW1 sensor. It comes with an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2 MP depth sensor, and 2MP Macro sensor.

Comparing the photos shot by these phones side by side, on the bright and good lighting conditions, both these phones capture some great photos. Most of the time, Poco X2 photos were better as they have more natural colors and better detailing and Realme X2 photos were abit more saturated. But in most of the cases, Realme X2 had a better dynamic range.

Moving towards the videos, both these phones can shoot 4k videos at 30 fps and super slomo upto 960fps. A big difference in these phones is the front-facing camera. Realme X2 comes with a single 32MP camera whereas Poco X2 comes with dual 20MP primary lens and 2Mp depth sensor.

Battery

Moving towards the battery, Poco X2 is powered by a massive 4500mAh battery whereas Realme X2 is powered by a 4000mAh battery. Both these phones come with fast charging as Realme X2 features new VOOC 4.0 with 30W charger which can charge the phone from 0-67% in 30 min. As for Poco X2, it comes with a 27W charger that can charge the phone from 0-100% in 1 hour and 10 minutes.

When it comes to battery performance, both these phones easily last for a day on normal usage.
