Realme X2 Full Review: Best Affordable Phone Available in Nepal

Just recently, Daraz Nepal has exclusively released Realme X2 in Nepal at Rs. 35,990 for an 8/128GB variant. At this price point, Realme X2 is one of the best value for money devices available in Nepal which competes with Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro, Huawei Y9s, Oppo A9 (2020), Vivo S1 Pro, Galaxy A70, etc. Realme devices are popular in the Asian market. The major reason is pricing since Realme provides smartphones with higher specs at low pricing it is also gaining its popularity in Nepal. Only limited models of Realme are available in Nepal and people are eagerly waiting for devices like Realme X2 Pro, and Realme XT. So let's find out in details what are the features and specs that we are getting in Realme X2.
Overview of Realme X2
Realme X2 is one of the best-looking smartphones with a glass-metal sandwich design. At the front, we can see the FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a teardrop notch. While at back slight camera bump on its housing can be seen which fits Quad camera setup in a Gorilla Glass 5 panel. In Realme X2, we can see 3.5 headphone jack, bottom-firing speaker, USB Type C connector, Dual SIM with microSD card slot.
Display and Design
The front 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5 Protection. The bezel is comparatively thin with 91.9% screen to body ratio. The FHD+(1080X2340 pixels) panel provide a good viewing angle and better color saturation. The display adapts 19.5:9 aspect ratio and the widescreen comes in handy if you love to watch lots of videos on a smartphone. The teardrop notch embeds 32 MP selfie camera and there is also an under-display fingerprint sensor. Compare to other smartphones the under-display sensor performs faster and more accurately.

Chipset and Performance
Realme opted to integrate Snapdragon 730G Processor with Adreno 618 GPU in Realme X2. Similarly, faster RAM and Storage technology is also used for better performance. The implemented Chipsets are powerful mid-range Soc and it comes in handy especially playing graphic-intensive games and process-intensive applications.
In a benchmark test, Realme X2 scored 6926 in multiple core and 2508 in single-core in GeekBench. These scores are slightly better than what we got from a benchmark of Oppo Reno 2, Mi 9SE, Galaxy A71, and Realme XT. But keep in mind that the score is far better in Realme X2 Pro (due to Snapdragon 855+ chipset).
Total of Three variants 4/64GB, 6/128GB and 8/128 GB are available in the global market but now only 8/128GB variant is available in Nepal. For gaming at medium to high settings, this smartphone does its job well without lagging the device. This smartphone comes with Android 9.0 OS and on top of it, we can find Color OS 6.1, which all of us might not like. But it is easy to get used to it.
Camera
Following the latest trend of incorporating Quad Camera at back, Realme X2 also embedded four cameras in a camera housing at the top right corner of the device. The great feature of Realme X2 is that they implemented a 64 MP main camera sensor which we can also see in Realme X2 Pro. Similarly, there is an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, 2 MP dedicated macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The main sensor provides 16MP photos which look great in better lighting conditions. The shot taken has good natural-looking color saturation and dynamic range. Similarly, details on the shots had been also preserved. Since there is no dedicated telephoto lens in Realme X2, zoom shots do not look great due to digital cropping. About shot of the ultra-wide camera, they look little oversaturated, the contrast ratio had also been increased and due to limited dynamic range shadows are less pronounced than normal shots.
About night photography, Realme X2 can capture an average looking shot. The still shots look great but a moving object can create blur images. Similarly, images look grainy and soft but they can also hold good details of the shots too. Regarding the macro shot, they produce wash out color shots. Images look a little darker and the details of the shot are not that great either. As the sensor is just 2MP, I like to capture shots from the main sensor and crop image which again can produce better shots than what dedicated macro camera can capture. Provided below are some shots captured from Realme X2.
Realme X2 can capture 4K(2160p @30fps) and FHD (10080p @120fps) shots as well as slow-motion HD (720 @960fps) videos. The 4k video looks nice as it can produce realistic and natural color in videos, the dynamic range is great too. Similarly, FHD shots can produce a similar kind of video at fewer details due to a decrease in resolution. Using FHD video capture mode will let you capture stable video using EIS, but keep in mind that your field of view will decrease due to the cropping of the frame. Even though the ultra-wide camera can capture FHD video, they are not that great as the dynamic range and color saturation are not good.
The front-facing 32MP sensor does its job quite well. They produce good shots, but again the dynamic range is limited and color saturation is not adequate (mainly due to beautify effect). But overall it can produce nice detailed images even in low light conditions.

Battery and Other Features
Realme X2 is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging. The super-fast VOOC Fash Charge V4.0 can boost the charging process by reducing charging time. Uses can charge Realme X2 from zero to 67% in just 30 minutes of charging time but to completely charge it takes 74 minutes of charging time. Regarding the discharge rate, Realme X2 can last for 105 hours just in a single charge. If you use this device mainly for media consumption, you can have 21 hr 23 min of video playback time. If you used it mainly for web browsing activity, it can last for 14 hr and 8 min. This means users can have full day usage without being worried about charging.
Regarding connectivity, Realme X2 has a 3.5mm headphone jack, 4G support, dual-band Wi-Fi (802.11 ac), Bluetooth V5.0, USB Type C connector, GPS, GLONASS, etc. Overall Realme X2 provides a better choice at a comparatively low price than what other competitors are offering.
