One of the most popular mid-range series from Realme is under number series like Realme 5, Realme 6 Pro, and so on. Under Realme Number Series, the company used to launch 3 new smartphones: Realme 7, Realme 7 Pro, and Realme 7i. Realme 7 Series had been launched last year and this year is for Realme 8 Series. Realme 7 was launched in Nepal at the price of Rs. Rs. 35,990 (8/128GB) for the 6/128G variant last year and this year, we will witness Realme 8. This year also, Realme has announced Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro and the company will launch Realme 8i later this year. The highlight specs of Realme 8 in nutshell are

The sleek and super slim design is a new trend in mid-range smartphones. Recently, OPPO F19 Pro is launched in Nepal with the same design and now, Realme 8 follows the same trend. 7.99mm thin and 177grams of Realme 8 is comfortable to hold in hand for a long duration. Furthermore, it has 160.6 x 73.9 x 8 mm (6.32 x 2.91 x 0.31 in) dimension, Glass front, plastic frame, and plastic back.
Realme 8 comes in a 6.4-inches Super AMOLED FHD+ display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. Also, it has 98.9 cm2 (~83.3% screen-to-body ratio), 20:9 ratio (~411 ppi density), and 1000 nits (peak) brightness, Sadly, no higher refresh rate in this device but we will get an Always-on display. Talking about the physical overview, it has a punch-hole display for housing a Selfie camera and a square camera bump on the top-left corner of the back panel. A huge “Dare to Leap” text to the extreme right of the rear panel.
The disappointing specs start here as Realme 8 is powered by the same processor which also powered Realme 7. These two smartphones are powered by the Mediatek Helio G95 chipset. Thankfully, it’s an octa-core gaming processor based on 12nm technology with 2x2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. It comes with a powerful Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. With this combination, we can expect a gaming experience with smoothness and high image quality. Moving onto the memory, it comes in 3 LPDDR4x RAM variants: 4/6/8GB and a single internal storage variant of 128GB UFS 2.1. The storage is expandable via a dedicated MicroSD slot.
Recently, Realme had announced a new 108MP Camera technology but sadly, this camera will be available only in Realme 8 Pro. It arrives with a Quad AI Camera lead by 64 MP (f/1.8, 26mm, 1/1.73", 0.8µm, PDAF) Primary Wide Lens. It’s supported by 8 MP (f/2.3, 119˚, 16mm, 1/4.0", 1.12µm) Ultrawide Lens, 2 MP (f/2.4) Macro Lens and 2 MP (f/2.4) Depth Sensor. On the lower side of the Square camera bump, an LED flash is placed. On the front, it has a single Selfie camera of 16MP.
On the video performance, the Rear camera can record videos on 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps while the Selfie camera can record in 1080p@30/120fps. Both of these cameras are supported by gyro-EIS.
Battery & Others
A massive non-removable, Li-Po 5000 mAh battery fuels Realme 8 with the support of 30W Fast charging. Based on the advertisement by the company, it will charge 50% in 26 min, 100% in 65 min. For charging port, it has USB Type-C 2.0 and also supports USB On-The-Go. The good news is it still has a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Not to forget, it has Dirac Sound with Hi-Res Audio Certification. Realme 8 is running on Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 as the skin of the smartphone.
