Realme 6i Officially Launched | Best Lower Mid-range Smartphone for 2020?

Just a couple of months ago, Realme has announced Realme 5i as a budget smartphone. And they also released this model in Nepal just a couple of days ago. The Realme 5i can be purchased in Nepal for Rs. 20,990 for 4/64GB Variant. Even though Realme 5i was released in January, Realme managed to release its successor just two months later. Overview of Realme 6i
The major feature of Realme 6i is that it got a quad rear camera setup with a primary 48MP sensor. Not only that it is the world’s first smartphone that comes with MediaTek Helio G80 Chipset. Similarly, it is powered by a bigger 5000mAh battery.
Display and Design
Realme 6i has a beautiful 6.5-inch IPS LCD HD+ panel at the front. The display panel has a 1600x720 pixel resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio with 270 PPI density. The display is good for media consumption and gaming but being an IPS panel it is not as vibrant and color-saturated as AMOLED or OLED panels.
The front panel embeds a 16MP front-facing camera in a teardrop notch instead of 5MP seen on Realme 5i. The body itself is made of plastic and the back panel is also made out of plastic to reduce the cost and the phone does look nice.

Chipset and Performance
To power the Realme 6i, MediaTek Helio G80 Chipset is used. The processor has eight cores, two of which are high performing clocking at 2GHz Cortex A75, while remaining are power-efficient 1.8GHz Cortex A55 cores. Similarly, Mali G52 MC2 GPU is used to handle the graphic intensive task. This chipset can handle daily tasks like media consumption, internet surfing, and casual gaming well but heavy gaming on this device is favorable due to limited performance. There is two variant of Realme 6i, 3/64GB and 4/128GB. This device does support dual nano 4G SIM for connectivity and there is an external microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Camera
At back, there is a vertical camera housing at the top left corner of the device similar to that of Realme 5i. The camera housing consists of a 48MP f/1.8 primary sensor. Similarly, there is an 8MP ultrawide lens, 2MP dedicated macro shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor. The main camera can shoot 4K video at 30fps and use gyro-EIS for stability. The photo and video quality will be good but is as a low-mid range device they can not produce excellent shots.
At the front, there is a 16MP camera sensor embedded in a teardrop notch in a display that provides good photos and video. This camera can be used for face unlock and video call service besides shooting photos and videos.

The battery capacity of Realme 6i is 5000mAh which supports 18W fast charging technology. With larger battery Realme 6i will easily last for 2 days of usage without being charged. Regarding connectivity, Realme 6i got dual-band Wi-Fi (802.11 ac), Bluetooth V5.0, GPS, GLONASS, FM Radio, Type C connector, 3.5mm headphone jack, etc. Additionally, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Price and Availability
Realme 6i is officially unveiled on Myanmar and made its way to global market. There are two color option available with Realme 6i, White Milk, and Green Tea colors. The base variant 3/64GB Realme 6i is priced KS249,900 ($180) and a higher-end model with 4/128GB option of Realme 6i cost 299,900 ($215). It is highly likely that this model will be available in Nepal. The expected price of Realme 6i in Nepal is Rs. 20,990 for 3/64GB variant and the higher-end model with 4/128GB option will cost around Rs. 25,990 in Nepal.
