Just In ! MWC 2020 Canceled | Fear of Corona Virus is Everywhere
FYI, MWC is the world’s biggest mobile show used to hold every year in February. Yes, last year’s MWC 2019 was also a big hit where we had seen many devices like Nokia 9, Foldable Phones like Samsung Galaxy Fold, Huawei Mate X, Moto Razr 219, many 5G devices and many more. The mobile manufacturers were preparing for the show and tech-savvy persons are excited to witness many exciting launch and announcements. But Sadly, GSMA canceled the show due to Corona Virus Concerns.
The GSMA is a trading firm responsible for organizing this show. This body used to bring around 1,200 companies under a show and create the platform for partnership, deals and product launch. GSMA CEO John Hoffman declares the cancelation of the show which is scheduled to be held in Barcelona from February 24th to February 27th.
On the statement, the GSMA States, “With due regard to the safe and healthy environment in Barcelona and the host country today, the GSMA has canceled MWC Barcelona 2020 because the global concern regarding the coronavirus outbreak, travel concern and other circumstances, make it impossible for the GSMA to hold the event. The Host City Parties respect and understand this decision. The GSMA and the Host City Parties will continue to be working in unison and supporting each other for MWC Barcelona 2021 and future editions. Our sympathies at this time are with those affected in China, and all around the world.”
Talking about the Corona Virus, this virus was first discovered in Wuhan, China and now, it has already affected more than 42,000 people. Over 1000 people have already died because of the virus. Doctors and researchers from all around the world are trying to control this outbreak.
The GSMA was trying to organize the show despite the outbreak but they compelled to cancel the show as most of the mobile companies pull themselves out of the show due to the health concerns. Remember, the show is canceled not postponed. This means we won’t get the MWC 2020. RIP MWC 2020.
