LG V60 ThinQ 5G | Flagship smartphone of LG for 2020?
Lately, LG has released its flagship smartphone LG V60 ThinQ 5G and a mid-range smartphone LG Q51. Being one of the best smartphones LG has cramped SD865, FHD+ OLED panel, and triple rear camera setup. So let's find out the pro and cons of LG V60 ThinQ 5G.
Overview of LG V60 ThinQ 5G
LG V60 ThinQ 5G is a beautifully designed smartphone with a glass aluminum sandwich design. The back curve of the smartphone is more pronounced and assist for grip but having front and back glass panel makes it slippery in hand. LG V60 has a slightly smaller display than Galaxy S20 ultra but the device itself is bigger. The front of the panel has a 6.8-inch P-OLED panel with a U shaped notch to house a 10MP selfie shooter.
The phone fits comfortably in hand despite having a large body. The LG V60 ThinQ 5G has a 6.8-inch OLED FHD+(1080X2460 pixels) display at the front with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display look sharp and vivid color made it one of the great display but lack of QHD panel and higher refresh rate are not what we are expecting in the flagship smartphone of 2020. If you are using Samsung’s flagship device then the bezel and chin might seem thick. Similarly, it also got IP68 Water and dust resistant certification.
In LG V60 ThinQ 5G similar-sized additional screen can be attached as an accessory which is better compared to what LG V50 offered. The dual display attached via a case and it increases productivity for sure. But at the same time, it increases the thickness of the device and consumes power from the phone as there is no battery inside the secondary display. Overall, the dual-screen case is sturdy and attached easily to the device, but the lack of battery and water resistance might hinder its usage.
Chipset and Performance
To provide excellent performance, LG has incorporated Snapdragon 865 Chipset in its latest LG V60 ThinQ 5G smartphone. The pair of latest CPU and Adreno 650 GPU provides this device enough power to handle many tasks and applications. Tasks like media consumption, internet surfing, and hard-core gaming all work flawlessly. The Qualcomm's X55 modem provides 5G connectivity in LG V60. Two variants; one with 8/128GB option and another with 8/256GB option are more than enough.
In the department of Camera, LG has incorporated a triple rear camera setup in LG V60. The main 64MP sensor is the first of its kind with dual-pixel binning technology in LG’s devices. The larger sensor and OIS let it capture decent photos and videos. The secondary sensor is a 13MP ultra-wide lens with a 117-degree field of view. Moreover, there is an additional 3D TOF sensor.
At the front, there is a 10 MP f/1.9 selfie camera tucked in a U shaped camera housing embedded in the display. The major thing we are missing in LG V60 5G is a telephoto camera. But LG claims that they can provide lossless 2 times zoom with a primary 64MP sensor.
About video recording, LG V60 can record 8K video in 24fps. The video recording capability of V60 provides different features. One of them is Voice Bokeh that allows users to hear the sound of distant subjects. The low light photo and video recording are excellent and the 3D TOF sensor provides depth information for advance 3D effects on shots.
