LG Q51 Officially Released | Is it Worth Buying?

LG has officially introduced its new mid-range smartphone LG Q51 in South Korea on 25 February 2020. LG Q51 is identical to LG K50s. The major feature of this device is that it has a 6.5-inch Display and triple rear camera setup. So with limited specs will it survive the market place. Let’s find out in detail here.


Overview of LG Q51

LG Q51 has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD HD+(720X1520 pixels) panel. At the top, there is a teardrop notch to house a 13MP front-facing camera. The 19:9 aspect ratio and 259 PPI pixel density are okay for media consumption activity. The viewing angle and color saturation are good but compared to other AMOLED and OLED panel the IPS LCD panel of LG Q51 looks pale. 

The rear panel of LG Q51 has a triple rear camera mounted in a horizontal camera housing. Beside it, there is a fingerprint sensor beneath the camera housing.

Chipset and Camera

The LG Q51 is powered by Mediatek Helio P22 Chipset and is coupled with Power VR GE 8320 GPU. This chipset can handle normal daily tasks like media consumption, internet surfing, making calls and capturing photos and videos but if you are an enthusiastic gamer or are willing to use CPU and GPU intensive application, this device will not handle them properly. LG Q51 comes with 3/32GB RAM and Storage option which is enough for the current time but in near future, you wish for more storage and RAM option. The good thing about this model is that it has a dedicated microSD slot for storage expansion.

About the camera, the rear triple rear camera setup has a 13MP main camera sensor. Additionally, there is a 5MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP depth sensor. At the front, there is a 13MP selfie shooter in a teardrop notch. There is nothing special about the camera department, they can good photos and videos.

Battery and Other Features

LG Q51 has a 4,000 mAh battery which can deliver enough power to last the device for a whole day usage without the need to charge. They have not provided any fast charging option for the battery which might be a disappointment for most of the users as almost all the smartphones are capable of fast charging technology. Regarding connectivity, LG Q51 got dual-band Wi-Fi (802.11 ac), Bluetooth V5.0, GPS, NFC, Type C connector, etc. Additionally, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor at the back of the device. 


Price and Availability

LG Q51 is officially released in South Korea on 25 February.  This device has two color options, Moonlight Titanium, and Frozen White. The price of LG Q51 is set at KRW 317,000 ($260 US dollar) in Korea. So the expected price of LG Q51 in Nepal is Rs. 29,990 for the 3/32GB variant. This device will compete in a market with Redmi Note 8 Pro, Realme 5 Pro, Realme XT, Honor 9X, and Redmi K30.
