iPhone XS, XS Max and iPhone XR now available in Nepal

GadgetFrame 22 Nov, 2018

The first trillion dollar company, Apple Inc. announced its next generation of iPhones a few months earlier and now it is available in Nepal. The three new models are called the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR.  iPhone XS Max is by far the biggest iPhone yet. The two new model looks almost identical to their predecessor,  but there are two major differences: they’re both available in gold and more importantly, the XS Max is huge. It’s not just the biggest iPhone ever, it’s one of the biggest phones out there.

The new iPhones come with spec upgrades as other years.  That includes a display with better dynamic range, wider stereo sound from the speakers, and speed increases to Face ID. Water resistance has been improved on both models. And the processor is getting a big boost as well, using Apple’s newly unveiled A12 Bionic processor, a six-core chip that’s among the first in the industry to use a 7nm process. Tim Cook called the devices by far the most advanced iPhone we have ever created.

iPhone XS, XS Max and XR

Apple has introduced the Max model of iPhone this year, which features a huge 6.5-inch screen. The screen size on iPhone XS Max is far bigger than last year's iPhone 8 Plus(5.5 inches) and bigger even than the Galaxy Note 9 (6.4 inches). Apple has certainly jumped up in the screen size as it is one of the most needed things in smartphones.

The specs that iPhone XS and XS Max share are identical except for the display and the size of the battery. According to Apple, its new device has 60% greater dynamic range in the display and provides a richer stereo sound with a better Face ID. The display now has a 120Hz touch-sensing rate for better touch detection and the batteries are slightly bigger. And you can now change the depth of field of an image from the gallery itself. These devices will support dual SIM cards (Nano + eSIM) as well.

All the new iPhone models are powered by Apple's Hexa-core A12 Bionic chip and these are the Apple's first 7nm chipset. These CPUs are coupled with octa-core Neural Engine which boots the machine learning capability of the phone. The company also claimed that the new phones will be much faster than the predecessor.

The iPhone XR is relatively cheaper iPhone, although its price tag is quite higher as compared to other smartphones in the market. iPhone XR features a 6.1-inch LCD display that has a lower 828 x 1792 pixels resolution. The XR won’t even feature Apple’s 3D touch and it is IP67 rated which is relatively weak as compared to XS and XS Max.

Apple iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR Price and Availability in Nepal

The flagship devices are getting a lot pricier and the new iPhones are no exception. iPhone has also been popular as the most expensive mobile phones in the market. Even the XR, which is supposed to be relatively cheaper, comes with a strong price tag. Pre-order for the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR started on November 18 in Nepal and they are available for pre-booking from different retailer spread all over Nepal. The new iPhones will be available to customers from today.

Although all the new iPhones are available for booking through all the retail stores of Apple products all over Nepal, the price seems to be much higher than expected. It varies too much from the price set internationally. There are a lot of other devices with similar specs which are a priced lot below the new iPhones. The phones are heavily priced and have set the record the most expensive phone in Nepal. Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, OnePlus 6T are some of the best alternatives for iPhones which are available in half the price of iPhones.
