India Officially Bans 59 Chinese Apps | Tiktok, UC Browser, & Shareit Included

We all know that there has been tension between the two countries India & China over the border issues for the past few weeks and is on the rise. And there have been news & rumors that the former was planning to ban more than 52 Chinese applications. And now Officially the Indian government has banned 59 Chinese apps including some popular apps such as TikTok, UC browser, etc.
"The Ministry of Information Technology, invoked its power under section 69A of the Information Technology Rules 2009 and in view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps since in view of the information available they are engaged in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state and public order”, the Indian Government said in an official statement.
The Indian Government further said “This move will safeguard the interests of crores of Indian mobile and internet users. This decision is a targeted move to ensure the safety and sovereignty of Indian cyberspace”.

The ban comes as no surprise as the Indian government was prepared for the action as it has been said that several of the Chinese apps were accused of transferring user data to servers.
