Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 Overview

Y9 Prime is a new version of recently launched Huawei Y9(2019). The main difference factor is pop-up selfie camera as there was a notch in Huawei Y9(2019). This device will take the battle with Vivo and Realme's budget device head to head. With this first budget device from Huawei with Pop-Up selfie camera, we can smell its battle with Redmi K20 and Realme X.

Design/Display

Huawei Y9 Prime comes with 6.59” HUAWEI Ultra FullView display without any notch. Experiencing limitless fun while watching videos, playing games or reading e-books in the almost bezel-less display is so affordable in this device. The display is IPS LCD display with the resolution of 1080 x 2340 making aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

This device features a unique dividing line that makes the device stand out from the rest. 

Performance

Huawei Y9 Prime is powered by Kirin 710F octa-core chipset that enhances the speed of the device and lowers the power consumption. According to the company, ”Your phone runs smoothly even if you are playing graphics-intensive games and live- streaming.” 

The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and GPU of Mali-G51 MP4. The device comes with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

Camera

Triple Camera in budget devices is like compulsory nowadays. And Huawei Y9 Prime is no exception. It comes with a triple camera with the combination of 16MP main sensor+ 8MP ultra-wide sensor + 2MP depth sensor. 

For the selfie, we have 16MP AI Front facing the camera in the pop-up system. The front camera offers real-time image optimizing in 8 scenes and will intelligently adjust the retouching intensity. 

The 3D Portrait retouching is available in both front and rear camera of this device. The rear camera can recognize 22 categories and 500+ scenes in real-time.

Battery and OS

This device has the same battery capacity as Huawei y9(2019) has.i.e 4,000mAh. With smart power-saving on this device, the whole day use of the device can be achieved with a single charge.

The device operates on EMUI 9.0 based on latest Android 9.0. Also, the phone comes with a reversible design type-C USB port.
