Display and Design

Compare to another flagship smartphone, Huawei P40 Pro got a slightly smaller display size, a 6.58-inch OLED panel with 1200x2640 pixel resolution. The OLED panel has a curve edge all over the sides. Huawei this time put a dual front-facing camera in a cylindrical punch hole. The great thing about this display is that it supports 90Hz refresh rate even in a weird resolution lying in between QHD+  and FHD+ resolution but the pixel density and aspect ratio provides better colors that make content looks vibrant and colorful.

Chipset and Performance

To power, Huawei P40 Pro HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G chipset is used. This chipset supports 5G connectivity and is paired with Mali- G76 MP16 GPU. Being the latest and greatest Kirin Chipset it performs similar to that of Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G Chipset. It can handle the daily casual task as well as high graphic-intensive games and applications flawlessly. Similarly, the faster UFS 3.0 Storage technology paired with faster RAM makes the content look even smoother in the 90Hz screen. Now only 8/256GB variant is released which supports Nano Memory to expand storage by 256GB.

One of the major improvements we are seeing in this device is in the camera department. There is a total of two front-facing cameras and quad rear cameras. At the front, we can see a 32MP f/2.2 lens paired with an IR TOF 3D depth sensor. Similarly, at back there is a 50 MP f/1.9 primary sensor with PDAF and OIS. Additionally, there is a periscope 12MP, f/3.4 lens acting as a telephoto lens which got a 5X optical zoom feature. Moreover, a 40MP f/1.8 ultra-wide sensor and a 3D TOF depth sensor can be found in P40 Pro.

These lenses provide a wide range of options for users for photography and videography. Regarding video recording, it can record 4K video up to 60fps. The photos and videos captured by this device will be decent and we expect Huawei P40 Pro to be the best camera phone of 2020.
