Honor View 20: The Best Phone Honor has Made

GadgetFrame 6 Feb, 2019

Honor View 20 is one of the flagship phones of 2019 from Honor. The Honor View 20 is without a doubt looks good and has a premium design. The glass back with its V pattern design looks really great with an almost bezel-less screen on the front. It comes with the new punch hole design which is trending nowadays in the world of smartphone. This punch hole design looks absolutely great and we loved this design but there are some users who do not like this new design. So, it’s a choice of what kind of design you prefer.

Design and Build Quality

Talking about the screen, it is a 6.4 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 85.7% screen to body ratio. Though the screen is not AMOLED like in OnePlus 6T the screen is quite bright and colors are also good along with the viewing angles. One complaint that many users may have is the lack of Gorilla glass as the screen might get some scratches so better use a screen protector.

You might be concern about this punch hole design on how this will effect on your daily usages and how different applications will handle it. There is nothing to worry about as it’s a small hole in the screen which launches a small animation when you switch on the camera. Many tech reviewers have tested it with various applications like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and some of the top games like Asphalt 9 and PubG mobile. There is nothing blocked when playing games like Asphalt 9 and PubG mobile when played on this smartphone.

Processors

Now talking about the insides on the phone, it rocks a 7nm octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset. This new 7 nm processor is a flagship chipset which can take on the Snapdragon 855 so yeah it's more future proof anyway. It comes with 4GB and 6GB of RAM with 128 GB and 256 GB of internal storage. Unfortunately, there is no option for extension of the storage.

Camera

For the camera performance, it features a 48MP Sony IMX586, f/1.8 lens, 78-degree angle 3D TOF (time-of-flight) sensor which can help you capture some amazing photos. Though it supports 3D TOF, there are no 3d motion apps or games on which you can test this 3D camera. You can shoot your videos on 4k @ 30 fps but there's no 4k at 60fps support which is kind of a bummer. Coming back to the front camera it has a 25-megapixel camera which can take some great selfies.

Battery

Honor View 20 is powered by a massive 4000 mah battery. So even for power users who like to spend most of their time using their phone, it can give you a decent battery life. Now Honor view 20 does support fast charging and comes with a 40-watt charger out of the box. So, that’s great news. There’s one thing weird, though the brick/adapter that comes with the box says 40 watts, the view 20 only supports 22.5 watt which is also great. It can charge your phone from 0 to 55% in just 30 minutes which is amazing, isn’t it?

The bottom line is that Honor view 20 delivers everything that you ask for at reasonable pricing with flair and premium looking design, great battery backup along with the futuristic design which includes the punch hole design. Considering all these factors Honor View 20 is a great smartphone and might give some tough competitor to phones in this price range specially OnePlus 6T.
