Foldable Phones - Galaxy Fold Vs Mate X: The next generation of Smartphones?

The tech market just can’t stay unstirred. It has not even been even a month that Samsung announced their Samsung Galaxy Fold & it already got a rival. Huawei unveiled their super luxury 5G phone with a folding screen called the Mate X. Both of the phones have eye-watering pricing & launch later. Oh man, the folding phone war has just officially begun.
Huawei Mate X was introduced at the Mobile World Congress 2019 Feb 24, Sunday in Barcelona. The phone is much bigger out of the two devices & seemingly more stylish looking than Samsung. Unlike the Galaxy Fold, the Huawei mate X folds outward, so the outside screen is the same as the inside one. The design of these two devices is quite different. Huawei Mate X when opened measures a full 8 inches with an impressive 2480x2200 resolution, versus 7.3 inches and an unknown number of pixels on the Galaxy Fold. When the phone is folded the mate X is 6.6 inches and the Samsung Galaxy Fold is 4.6 inches. The HUAWEI Mate X is impressively thin with the Falcon Wing design. The firm and durable design ensure the screen will not overstretch while folding or bulge in unfolding. Galaxy Fold has a notch.
Talking about cameras Samsung galaxy fold has a total of six cameras, three on the back, two on the front and one on the cover. Where Huawei Mate X has four cameras. The Huawei Mate X will work with the 5G network & it claims to be the fastest foldable 5G smartphone. Samsung galaxy fold comes with 4G & 5G. So you are not tied with the only 5G.
The Huawei Mate X runs on company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 980 Chipset and comes with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Huawei Mate X has a strong battery of 4500mAh which is more than of Samsung Galaxy fold 4300mAh. Both the phones have fast charging mate X having the 55W charger that can apparently charge 85% of the battery in just 30 minutes.

It seems very cruel to wait for these awesome foldable phones. Both the phones are brilliant but look Huawei seems to pack a punch over Samsung. But the war is heating up. Nothing can be said until the phones are launched. As for now, Mate X seems little more stylish & attractive than Galaxy Fold. Both of these phones aren’t much affordable for common people. We will have to see who will win over the consumers.
