Facebook Launched Facebook Shops | New Way of Online Shopping?

Covid-19 Pandemic has forced people to stay at their home for the prevention of spread o virus. So, many sectors had been closed for a time being and it has affected the livelihood of people. Facebook has always been about connecting to each other that maybe with your friends,  family, but also products, brands, and businesses. So the social media giant Facebook has introduced Shops that will enable businesses to turn their Facebook or Instagram pages into shopfronts. Their motto is to inspire people to shop and make buying and selling online easier.

It is a major push by the social media giant in the e-commerce sector. Facebook has said that due to this COVID-19 pandemic various small businesses have been hit very hard. Facebook said that” Our goal is to make shopping seamless and empower anyone from a small business owner to a global brand to use our apps to connect with customers.” 

People will be able to set their online store making it easy for businesses that customers can access both on Facebook and Instagram.

To create a Facebook shop it’s very simple and easy. Businesses can choose the products to feature in their catalog. They can also customize the look and feel of the shop with a cover picture and accent colors. It means that any seller, no matter their size or budget, will be able to bring their business online. And they’ll be connecting with their customers wherever and whenever it’s convenient for them. 

CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated, “If you can’t physically open your store or restaurant, you can still take orders online and ship them to people”. He further added, “We’re seeing a lot of small businesses that never had online businesses get online for the first time.

Facebook Shops can be found on a business’ Facebook Page or Instagram profile, and can also be found on stories or ads. Similar to the physical stores or shop, you can ask for help via Messenger, WhatsApp, Instagram Direct to inquiry about support, track deliveries, and get more information about products. 

Facebook Shop has already rolled on Facebook in the U.S and will come on Instagram sometime in summer 2020. The brand is also planning to bring shops on Messenger, Whatsapp, and Instagram Direct very soon in the future.

Many individuals have been using live video to showcase products for years. Now, they’re trying to make it easier to shop in real-time. Facebook Said,” Soon, sellers, brands, and creators will be able to tag products from their Facebook Shop or catalog before going live and those products will be shown at the bottom of the video so people can easily tap to learn more and purchase.”

They are working with the likes of  BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Shopify, ChannelAdvisor, CedCommerce, Tienda Nube, Cafe24, and Feedonomics to provide support for small businesses. These partners will offer powerful tools to help entrepreneurs to start & run their businesses and move online. Facebook has once again proved why they’re the biggest social media giant. They never fail to come up with a great initiative to help peoples. During this time of the pandemic, the brand has provided hope for the small business to maintain its economy.
