DJI Mavic Air 2 Launched in Nepal | More Advanced Drone is Here

DJI is a well-known name for drone manufacturers. There last product in Air lineup, Mavic Air was a big hit and they have now come up with its successor as DJI Mavic Air 2. The most significant upgrade that this new Drone brought is Upgraded camera and longer flight time. DJI Mavic Air 2 is launched in Nepal with the starting price of Rs. 1,16,000.

DJI Mavic Air 2 Overview

Starting off with the camera, Mavic Air 2 packs a 48MP sensor which is mostly found in smartphones these days. This image sensor is 1/2-inch Quad Bayer CMOS sensor. For the video recording, it can record 4K videos at 60fps, 1080p slow-motion videos at 240fps, and 8K time-lapse videos. The other notable features of this camera are HDR photo, video, and panorama.

OcuSync 2.0 Transmission system is used this drone which increased the transmission distance of Mavic Air 2 to 10km for 1080p videos. Mavic Air 2 supports 2.4/5.8GHz dual-frequency bands and automatically switches to the better channel for the lowest interfaces.


DJI promise Mavic Air 2 as one of the smartest and safest drone. Mavic Air 2 comes with preprogrammed scenes detection for photos including snow, trees, sunsets, sunrise, and many more. Also, Mavic Air 2 comes with AirSense technology that detects and warns the drone operator of nearby aircraft. Furthermore, Mavic Air 2 has an obstacle sensor to avoid collisions.

Talking about the Drone Safety and APAS, DJI says, “Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS) 3.0 utilizes an advanced mapping technology for smooth following and reliable obstacle avoidance in complex scenarios. Obstacle avoidance performance and automatic flight planning have dramatically improved compared to previous generations, increasing safety, and providing more options.


Most importantly flight time has been increased from the previous drone. This new Mavic Air 2 can fly up to 34 minutes at the top speed of 68kph. The newly designed remote controller of Mavic Air 2 comes with a new Clamp and fits easily with smartphones. This controller will survive 240 minutes on a single charge.

The base variant of DJI Mavic Air 2 costs $799 in the US and Combo pack which includes ND Filters Set, battery charging hub, battery to power bank adaptor, and shoulder bag cost $988. The global launch of this DJI Mavic Air 2 may take some time due to the Corona Virus pandemic. Talking about Nepal, Oliz Store used to launch these DJI products. DJI Mavic Mini and DJI Mavic 2 Zoom are available in the Oliz Store at the price of Rs. 58,000 and Rs.185,000 respectively. So, the Oliz store brings DJI Mavic Air 2 in Nepal costing Rs.1,16,000 for the standard version and Rs.1,45,000 for fly more Version.
